8.1/10A well-aged Speyside single malt that delivers quiet confidence at a fair price. The Glenlivet 18 Year Old Batch Reserve is a reliable, rewarding dram that rewards patience in the glass just as it rewarded patience in the cask.

40 reviewsNice whisky but I can't help feeling the 40% ABV holds it back. There's lovely honey and dried apricot character in there, but it feels a bit thin on the finish. I'd love to see what this tastes like at cask strength.

14 April 2026Bought this as a gift for my dad's retirement and ended up grabbing one for myself too. The nose alone is worth it — rich dried fruits and a hint of dark chocolate. Smooth as anything at 40%, which makes it perfect for someone who doesn't want a peat monster.

25 March 2026I drink this neat after a big meal and it never disappoints. Warm spiced pear and marmalade notes that linger nicely. The batch reserve approach gives it a consistency I appreciate — every bottle I've bought has tasted the same.

15 March 2026It's a perfectly pleasant Speyside — fruity, a bit nutty, nice caramel sweetness. But for me it sits in that awkward middle ground where it's too expensive for everyday drinking and not quite special enough for a proper occasion bottle. I'd reach for a Glenfarclas 18 before this one.

24 February 2026This has been my birthday bottle for three years running now. Beautiful dried fruit and toffee on the nose, and the palate delivers waves of baked apple and gentle oak spice. At 40% it's incredibly smooth neat — almost dangerously easy to drink for an 18 year old.
