Tasting Notes

Nose

Light barley and green apple, crisp grass, almonds, hazelnuts, cocoa, hints of manuka honey and cinnamon — gentle and inviting

Palate

Green fruits — apple, pear — stewed fruit, dessert wine and Sauternes character, apple peels, honey, watermelon sweetness, water opens vanilla and citrus

Finish

Medium length — green fresh-cut-grass, notably dry and herbal, a Lowland farewell that speaks of the rolling farmland

The Edinburgh Malt — the closest distillery to the capital, in the rolling farmland of Pencaitland, East Lothian. Known as 'the garden distillery' for its pastoral setting. Diageo selected it as the sole Lowland representative in their Classic Malts series. Houses one of Scotland's largest copper pot stills. Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2010, Best Lowland Single Malt 2014.
