7.6/10A cask strength Highland single malt matured for a full decade in Spanish wine wood, the Glenglassaugh 2011 delivers bold, wine-cask-driven character at 59.5% ABV that rewards patience and a few drops of water.

3 reviewsSolid Highland dram with a nice winey character and some stewed fruit notes. I drink it neat and it handles the high ABV well without being too hot. At £90 though, I'd want another year or two in that cask to really justify the price — there are comparable bottles out there for less.
19 April 2026The sherry-like sweetness from that Spanish wine cask really comes through — dried figs, dark chocolate, and a hint of something almost port-like on the nose. At 59.5% it's a proper cask strength bruiser but a few drops of water opens it up beautifully. Genuinely impressed with what Glenglassaugh are doing these days.
