Tasting Notes

Nose

Cereal sweetness, marzipan, toasted almond, red apple, dried fig, sultana, wildflower honey, rum spice, ginger

Palate

Salty butter, Corinth raisins, walnut loaf, coffee ice cream, toffee apple — worm tub heaviness shining

Finish

Long, malty, sugary porridge tail — dangerously drinkable

Expert Review

8/10

Diageo Speysider, 'Horse Power' malt — top-tier component of White Horse and Johnnie Walker (especially JW Gold). Worm-tub condensers give heavier, fruity character. Last distillery built in Speyside in the 19th century (1898). 43%. Vibrant, fruity, dangerously drinkable — superb price/quality entry-level OB.
