8.2/10A fifteen-year-old Dufftown at cask strength with an inspired Pineau des Charentes finish, independently bottled by Berry Bros & Rudd. At £99.95, this is a distinctive and well-considered Speyside release that rewards slow, attentive drinking.

12 reviewsThe Pineau des Charentes finish on this is gorgeous — dried apricot, honey, and a subtle grape sweetness that I wasn't expecting from a Speyside. At 52.9% it's got real punch but a splash of water opens it right up. Fifteen years in wood has done this one a lot of favours.

9 February 2026Berry Bros tend to pick well and this Dufftown doesn't disappoint. Nose is all orchard fruit and vanilla, palate brings some spice and that distinctive Pineau sweetness. At a hundred quid for a 15-year-old cask strength it's reasonable, though not a steal. I'd buy another if I saw it.

28 January 2026Had this neat after a big meal and it was spot on. Rich and dessert-like with dried fruit, a hint of marzipan, and gentle oak. The 52.9% ABV carries the flavour without burning. Dufftown doesn't get enough love as a distillery and this Berry Bros bottling shows what it can do with the right cask.

4 January 2026Nice enough dram — creamy texture, some stewed fruit and toffee notes. The Pineau finish adds interest but I found it a bit one-note after the first few sips. For the price I'd probably reach for a Glenfarclas 15 instead, though the cask strength is a plus.
