The oloroso cask really shines here — dried fruits, Christmas cake, and a nice warmth from the 46% ABV. I drink most of my whiskies neat and this one rewards patience. Genuinely impressed with what Dartmoor are doing.

The sherry cask does a lot of heavy lifting here. There's some pleasant dried fruit and nuttiness, but underneath it I wanted more distillery character coming through. It's fine neat, just feels a touch young for the price tag.

I've been working my way through the English distilleries and this is a standout. The sherry cask gives it gorgeous layers of dark fruit and spice, and the 46% ABV is spot on. Yes it's £93 but I'd rather have one bottle of this than two bottles of something boring.

Nose is all dried apricots and walnut. On the palate it's sweet and rounded with a gentle spice on the finish. I usually add a few drops of water which opens up some orange peel notes. Good stuff from Dartmoor, just wish there was an age statement.

Picked this up out of curiosity and was pleasantly surprised. Big sherry character — think stewed plums and toffee — with a clean finish that doesn't overstay. At 46% it's got enough punch without being a bruiser. Would happily buy again.
