Clara Johansson — Good but not quite worth the price

Decent dram with classic Speyside character — think apples, vanilla, a touch of toffee. The cask strength is nice and it handles water well. At £90 though, I feel like there are 11-year-old independents out there that give you more for less. Solid but not a rebuy for me.

This one hits well above its age. At 55.3% it's got real punch but there's a lovely honeyed sweetness underneath — stewed orchard fruits, a bit of malt, some gentle spice on the finish. Added a few drops of water and it opened right up. Berry Bros picked a cracking cask here.
