Rich and malty with caramel and a hint of dark chocolate on the nose. The palate delivers but I kept thinking I could get a solid Scotch single malt for the same money. Worth trying at a bar before committing to a bottle.

At 59.5% this absolutely roars out of the glass — dried apricot, toasted oak, and a whack of baking spice. Added a few drops of water and it opened up into honey and vanilla custard. Genuinely impressive for a single cask American single malt.
