Tasting Notes

Nose

Rich and spicy — dried fruits, raisins, apricots, stewed apple, lemon, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, pencil shavings, mint, gentle peat smoke

Palate

Full, rich, and smoky — baking spices, sherry wine notes, the Islay component adding peaty tanginess, the French oak adding exotic spice, non-chill-filtration preserving full body and texture

Finish

Medium — lingering peat smoke giving way to wood ash and soft tannins, the independent blender's art evident in the seamless integration

Expert Review

8/10

John Glaser's independent blending house — 67% malt (Highland, Speyside, Islay) and 33% Lowland grain, in ex-bourbon, sherry, and new French oak. Non-chill-filtered at 43%. The blend that puts big-name blends to shame: sherried fruit with peaty tanginess. Incredibly well-crafted.
