Tasting Notes

Nose

Old hessian rope, dried seaweed, beeswax, lemon oil and a faint medicinal note. The peat has receded into something almost vegetal — damp leaves, salted lemon peel.

Palate

Silken and oily, with kiln-smoke now rendered into something soft — barbecued pineapple, candied ginger, brine, a thread of waxed fruit and toasted oak. Time has done its quiet work.

Finish

Very long, drying, mineral and ashy, with citrus oils and a final whisper of woodsmoke that refuses to leave the room.
