Buchanan's Master is my go-to when I want something refined but not fussy. The nose is all toffee and light smoke, and at 40% it's easy drinking without being watery. Not the most complex dram on my shelf, but it's one I keep coming back to.

The 15 years of ageing really shows — there's a richness you don't normally get from blends. Soft caramel and a touch of dark chocolate on the palate. One cube of ice opens it up beautifully.
