8.1/10A rare centenary bottling marking Bruichladdich's first hundred years on Islay, this 15-year-old is a collector's piece from the distillery's pre-closure era — liquid history at 43%, best appreciated slowly and without ceremony.

6 reviewsPicked this up at auction after years of hunting. The nose is incredible — old leather, dried fruits, and this gorgeous honeyed smoke that only comes from proper aged Islay malt. At 43% it's perfectly balanced, no need for water. Yes it's £900 but you're drinking a centenary bottling from Bruichladdich's golden era.

7 February 2026Expected a peat bomb but this is from the pre-revival Bruichladdich era so it's much more restrained. Lovely waxy texture with orchard fruits and a hint of coastal brine. I drink it neat, obviously — you don't add anything to a bottle this old. The finish goes on forever.
