Nose

Mild and smoky — bergamot, lemon blossoms, fresh-cut hay, mellow peat, honeydew melon, lemongrass, the balance that defines Bowmore

Palate

Richly smoked — thick smoke rolling across the tongue, subtle warmth, honey, coastal elements, the peat balanced rather than dominant, remarkably flavourful for 40%

Finish

Smoke dominating — dry with ashes, hints of citrus, very long and lingering, Islay's signature persistence

Islay's oldest distillery (established 1779) producing the most balanced Islay single malt — not as peaty as Ardbeg or Laphroaig, but distinctly smoky and distinctly Islay. Excellently balanced between peat smoke and barley sweetness. One of the best entry-level single malts anywhere.
