21 reviewsI'm a bourbon drinker who's been exploring Irish whiskey and Blue Spot absolutely floored me. The pot still spice is incredible at cask strength, loads of tropical fruit and this gorgeous oily texture. Had to grab a second bottle before my local ran out.

18 February 2026Blue Spot is solid single pot still — creamy, fruity, with a nice peppery finish. But at nearly £95 for a 7 year old, I keep comparing it to what else I could buy at that price point. I enjoy it neat but I expected a bit more depth for the money.

25 December 2025Straight from the bottle at 58.4% it's a bit of a firebreather honestly. Once you tame it with water though, you get lovely stone fruit and vanilla with a lingering warm spice. Not my everyday pour but I'm happy to have it on the shelf.

9 November 2025Maybe my expectations were too high given all the hype. It's a perfectly fine dram with some nice orchard fruit notes and a spicy kick, but at 7 years old it still feels a touch young to me. The finish fades quicker than I'd like. I'd reach for a Redbreast 12 CS before this most nights.

5 November 2025Been rationing my bottle since I picked it up last month. There's this beautiful mix of dark chocolate, clove, and ripe pear that works brilliantly after a meal. The high ABV keeps it warming without being harsh. Really well balanced for a cask strength release.

4 November 2025I've tried Green and Yellow Spot before and Blue might be my favourite of the three. The cask strength really lets the pot still character shine through — buttery, slightly floral, with dried fruit on the finish. Worth every penny if you appreciate Irish whiskey done right.

31 October 2025At 58.4% this doesn't mess around. Big hit of green apple and toasted oak on the nose, then waves of honey and baking spice on the palate. I add just a few drops of water and it opens right up. For a 7 year old it drinks well above its age.
