8/10A 12-year-old Benrinnes selected by French independent bottler Dumangin, bottled at a confident 48% ABV. A muscular, distinctive Speyside single malt that rewards patience and offers genuine character in a market full of safe choices.

35 reviewsNice enough dram with some dried fruit and malty sweetness, but at over £90 I expected a bit more complexity from a 12 year old. The finish is medium length with some spice and oak. I'd buy it again at £70 but probably won't repurchase at this price.

31 March 2026I've had a few Dumangin releases and they generally know what they're doing. This 12 year old Benrinnes has a rich, slightly waxy texture with stewed apple and a hint of sulphur that I actually enjoy. Drinking it neat at 48% is just right, no water needed.

3 March 2026Grabbed this at a tasting event and immediately ordered a bottle. There's a savoury, almost meaty quality underneath the typical Speyside fruitiness that I really wasn't expecting from a 12 year old. Pairs brilliantly with dark chocolate. Worth the price if you like discovering lesser-known distilleries.

12 February 2026Picked this up on a whim and I'm really glad I did. Classic Speyside honey and orchard fruit on the nose, but the 48% ABV gives it a lovely spicy kick that keeps things interesting. At £93 it's not cheap but Benrinnes is so underrated as a distillery — this is proper single malt.
