Tasting Notes

Nose

Dark cherries, peach, strawberries and cream, smoked meat, old fireplaces, classic Ardbeg peat — the Pinot adding fruit to the smoke

Palate

Fiery and spicy — cherries, lime, wood smoke throughout, velvety summer fruit pudding, bitter cherry — Pinot meets peat

Finish

Dark chocolate, single espresso, lingering wood smoke — long and warming, the wine cask leaving its berry signature

Expert Review

8/10

Released 2020 for the Ardbeg Committee's 20th anniversary. New Zealand Pinot Noir casks meet Islay peat. Named after NZ's black sheep. Committee Release at 50.7% is the sought-after version. One of the most fruit-forward Ardbegs ever — genuine berry complexity from the Pinot Noir. Highly regarded limited edition.
