7.9/10Aberlour A'Bunadh is a cask-strength Speyside single malt bottled at a commanding 60% ABV with no chill-filtration. A sherry-driven, full-bodied expression that rewards patience and a splash of water — serious whisky at a fair price.

24 reviewsThis is what cask strength sherry bomb should taste like. At 60% ABV it's obviously hot neat, but add a few drops of water and it opens up into dark chocolate, stewed plums, and Christmas cake. One of the best value sherried malts you can find at this price point.

25 March 2026I've had three different batches of A'Bunadh and they genuinely vary quite a bit. This one leans more towards orange peel and dark chocolate than the sherry-forward ones I've had before. Solid whisky but at £95 I expect more consistency.

23 March 2026Maybe I got a weak batch but this didn't blow me away like everyone said it would. It's nice enough — sherry, some baking spices, a bit of sulphur on the finish that I'm not keen on. For £95 I'd rather grab a Glendronach 15.

12 January 2026Picked up a bottle of A'Bunadh after hearing about it for years and I'm not disappointed. Big dried fruit and nutty toffee on the nose, with a long spicy finish. It does need water though — straight from the bottle at 60% it's a bit of a beast.

10 January 2026I used to think cask strength whiskies were just about showing off with high ABV numbers. A'Bunadh completely changed my mind. The intensity of the dried fruit, dark chocolate, and espresso notes is something a 40% bottling just can't deliver. Worth every penny of that £95.

7 January 2026A'Bunadh has been in my rotation for years now. Non-chill filtered, natural colour, cask strength — everything you want from a serious single malt. The raisin and ginger spice combo with a splash of water is just lovely.

18 December 2025Does what it says on the tin — big sherried Speyside at cask strength. I get a lot of raisin, walnut, and cinnamon on the palate. My only gripe is the finish turns a touch bitter, but a drop of water sorts that out. Fair value at the price.
