This is exactly what I want from an A'Bunadh release. Massive dried fruit and dark chocolate on the nose, then waves of stewed plums and Christmas cake. At 56.2% it's hot neat but a few drops of water opens it up beautifully. Worth the price for a proper sherry cask experience.

I grabbed this on a whim and it's become my favourite bottle on the shelf right now. The nose alone is incredible — rich fruitcake, dark honey, and baking spices. Full-bodied and warming at cask strength but never harsh. Already thinking about buying a backup before it disappears.

Poured this neat after dinner and it was just the ticket. Big sherry influence with sticky dates, nutmeg, and a hint of orange peel underneath. The cask strength really carries those flavours. My wife even asked for a taste, which never happens.

I've had several A'Bunadh batches over the years and this Collection Edition sits comfortably in the middle. Rich toffee and raisin notes, good weight on the palate. At nearly £95 though, I expected a bit more complexity — the finish fades faster than I'd like.

Don't get me wrong, if you love sherry-forward Speyside this ticks the boxes — raisins, figs, brown sugar, all present. But I found it lacked the layered development I get from other A'Bunadh batches. At this price point I'd probably reach for a Glendronach instead.
