First Impressions
Matured entirely in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels, Tullibardine 15 is an unapologetically sweet, vanilla-forward Highland expression.
Distillery & Heritage
Tullibardine sits in Blackford, Perthshire, on a site that supplied ale to King James IV's coronation in 1488 — the spring water has been prized for centuries. The modern distillery dates to 1949 (designed by William Delmé-Evans), and has been owned since 2011 by Picard Vins & Spiritueux of France.
Tasting Notes in Detail
The nose is classic American-oak Highland: vanilla pod, coconut shavings, butterscotch and a soft tropical lift of banana. The palate keeps that thread going with honey, vanilla cream, baked apple and a flicker of ginger spice.
Verdict
A textbook bourbon-matured Highland malt.
