Distillery & Heritage

Tomatin sits 315 metres above sea level in the Monadhliath foothills south of Inverness, making it one of Scotland's highest distilleries. Founded in 1897, it was once the largest malt distillery in Scotland with 23 stills, and since 1986 has been Japanese-owned by Takara Shuzo.

Tasting Notes in Detail

The nose is soft and inviting: vanilla, ripe pear, light honey and a curl of citrus. The palate is creamy and well-weighted.

Verdict

A polished, gentle Highlander.
