First Impressions
Tomatin 12 is one of the great-value Highland malts.
Distillery & Heritage
Tomatin sits high in the hills south of Inverness, founded in 1897. By the 1970s it had grown to 23 stills and was the largest malt distillery in Scotland. In 1986 it became the first Scotch distillery to be bought by a Japanese company — Takara Shuzo and Okura.
Tasting Notes in Detail
The nose offers vanilla, red apple, light sherry sweetness, milk chocolate and toffee. The palate is soft and fruity.
Verdict
Outstanding value Highland whisky and a brilliant everyday dram.
