Twelve years of American oak have given the naturally maritime Tobermory spirit a smooth, citrus-forward character. The orange and peach notes are the defining flavours, with chocolate cake, vanilla and a thick, creamy mouthfeel providing richness. The island location adds a subtle maritime freshness that inland distilleries cannot replicate.
Tobermory 12 doesn't get the attention it deserves. Overshadowed by more famous island malts and its own peated Ledaig sibling, it is a smooth, well-balanced single malt that rewards attention.
