Tobermory 12 Year Old is the core unpeated expression from Mull's harbour-front distillery — matured entirely in American oak casks, bottled at 46.3% without chill filtration or added colour. It is Tobermory's flagship, distinct from the peated Ledaig line.
Twelve years of American oak have given the naturally maritime Tobermory spirit a smooth, citrus-forward character. The orange and peach notes are the defining flavours, with chocolate cake, vanilla and a thick, creamy mouthfeel providing richness. The island location adds a subtle maritime freshness that inland distilleries cannot replicate.
Tobermory 12 doesn't get the attention it deserves. Overshadowed by more famous island malts and its own peated Ledaig sibling, it is a smooth, well-balanced single malt that rewards attention. At its price, for a twelve-year-old island malt at 46.3%, the value is genuine. A whisky that deserves a place in any permanent collection.
