First Impressions
Talisker 25 is the grown-up, mellowed version of the fiery 10 — the famous pepper attack softened into elegance, the smoke turned to embers, and tropical fruit blossoming after a quarter century in oak.
Distillery & Heritage
Talisker has been distilling at Carbost on the shores of Loch Harport since 1830 and remains the only distillery on the Isle of Skye. The 25 is a limited annual release, matured in refill American oak casks.
Tasting Notes in Detail
The nose is layered and coastal — sea spray and beeswax meet ripe mango, dried apricot and a quiet peppery smoke. The palate is silky and remarkably fruity. The finish runs for minutes, warming and salted, with citrus and embers.
Verdict
One of Scotland's great aged island malts.
