Tasting Notes

Nose

Vanilla custard, pear, white pepper, honeycomb and a hint of red berry.

Palate

Silky and layered — apricot, vanilla pod, milk chocolate, oak spice and gentle stone fruit.

Finish

Long and elegant with creamy oak, honey and lingering soft fruit.

First Impressions

Sullivans Cove Double Cask is the distillery's flagship blended bottling — a marriage of whisky matured in ex-American oak bourbon barrels and ex-French oak Australian port casks.

Distillery & Heritage

Sullivans Cove rocketed to global fame in 2014 when their French Oak HH0525 was crowned World's Best Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards. Based in Cambridge, Tasmania, the distillery uses unusually long fermentation, slow distillation and full-size casks.

Tasting Notes in Detail

The nose is bright and inviting. The palate is the star: silky, layered and mouth-coating.

Verdict

A masterclass in balance.
