Tasting Notes

Nose

Cut grass, lemon zest, elderflower, jasmine, green apple, light honey, soft vanilla and gentle cereal

Palate

Silky and floral — lemon meringue, pear drops, white chocolate, fresh mint, gooseberry and a whisper of ginger

Finish

Clean, crisp, lingering citrus and floral notes with a delicate herbal dryness

First Impressions

Rosebank was always called the King of the Lowlands — and one taste explains why.

Distillery & Heritage

Founded in 1840 on the banks of the Forth and Clyde Canal in Falkirk, Rosebank was closed by United Distillers in 1993. Ian Macleod Distillers acquired the site in 2017, painstakingly restored the buildings and recreated the original triple-distillation regime with new stills modelled on the lost originals. Production resumed in 2023.

Tasting Notes in Detail

Rosebank's character is floral elegance — a Lowland delicacy that nonetheless carries real depth.

Verdict

A resurrection worth celebrating.
