First Impressions
Knappogue Castle takes its name from a 15th-century Norman tower house in County Clare, but the liquid inside is Bushmills single malt.
Distillery & Heritage
The Knappogue Castle name was revived in the 1980s by Mark Edwin Andrews, an American whiskey lover who had bought the actual castle in 1966. The modern 12 Year Old is sourced exclusively from Bushmills in County Antrim.
Tasting Notes in Detail
The classic Bushmills DNA is unmistakable — honey, pear, vanilla and a polished maltiness.
Verdict
Unfussy, elegant and absurdly drinkable.
