Inchmurrin is Loch Lomond's unpeated expression, distilled in the distillery's distinctive high-strength straight-necked stills. Where the core Loch Lomond 12 blends peated and unpeated spirit, and the Inchmoan is fully peated, Inchmurrin is clean, fruity, and entirely smoke-free. Named after an island in the loch, it won Best Single Malt Under 15 Years at the IWSC 2024.

The whisky is aged for twelve years in a combination of bourbon, refill American oak, and recharred casks — the same triple-cask approach as its siblings — and bottled at 46% without chill filtration. The straight-necked stills produce a lighter, more ester-rich distillate than traditional pot stills, which gives Inchmurrin its distinctive fruit-forward character.

The nose is vibrant: pear, red apple, ripe blueberry, fudge, toffee, vanilla custard, and a delicate hint of cinnamon. The palate bursts with peach, red apple, and pear — a rich fruit salad — with grapefruit zest, creamy fudge, vanilla, milk chocolate, toasted oak, black pepper, and allspice. The mouthfeel is creamy and generous.

The finish is medium, with fruity sweetness fading into drying oak and pepper. It is a lively, sweet, and versatile dram — ideal for those who enjoy fruit-forward whisky but want more complexity than a standard Speyside offers. Loch Lomond's Island Collection proves that the distillery's unusual still configuration is not a limitation but an advantage.
