Tasting Notes

Nose

Incredibly inviting — vanilla cream, roasted nuts, burnt orange peel. Roasted marshmallow, toasted grains. The organic, locally grown grain gives the nose an agricultural freshness.

Palate

Soft and nutty — prominent corn notes creating a smooth, approachable foundation. The French and American oak combination adds vanilla and a gentle warmth. Neither bourbon nor rye — a grain-forward blend that defies conventional categories.

Finish

Spicy rye note that adds complexity — a balanced, harmonious close.

Griffo Stony Point is a grain-forward American whiskey from Griffo Distillery in Petaluma, Northern California. Using locally grown organic corn and rye, aged in both French and American oak barrels, it is deliberately neither bourbon nor rye — occupying its own space in the American whiskey spectrum.

The French and American oak combination is a Californian touch. French oak adds spice and structure, American oak provides vanilla and sweetness, and the dual-oak approach creates more complexity than either wood type alone. The organic, locally sourced grain adds an agricultural freshness.

Griffo Stony Point is a well-made California craft whiskey with genuine character. The grain-forward approach, the dual-oak maturation and the organic provenance create something distinctive and enjoyable. California's wine country, making whiskey with wine-country sensibility.
