Tasting Notes

Nose

Vanilla custard, oak shavings, baked apple, light sherry, brown sugar and a whisper of spice.

Palate

Rich and creamy — toffee, dried fruit, cinnamon, soft oak tannin and old bourbon-cask sweetness with a sherried backbone.

Finish

Long, warming and gently spiced with lingering vanilla, toasted oak and dried apricot.

First Impressions

Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix is one of the most romantic accident-stories in Scotch whisky. In the brutal winter of early 2010 the weight of snow caused the roof of a Dufftown warehouse to collapse, exposing aged casks of Glenfiddich to the elements.

Distillery & Heritage

Founded in 1887 by William Grant, Glenfiddich remains family-owned. Snow Phoenix is a Travel Retail and limited release that has become a collector's piece.

Tasting Notes in Detail

The nose leads with classic Glenfiddich orchard fruit but with extra depth.

Verdict

If you can still find a bottle, treasure it.
