Tasting Notes

Nose

Ripe peach, cherry blossom, honeydew melon, sandalwood and delicate floral spice.

Palate

Silky and exotic — apricot, lychee, vanilla cream, white pepper and a savoury rice-spirit note unlike anything else in Scotch.

Finish

Long, perfumed and elegant with stone fruit, oak and a faint umami warmth.

First Impressions

Glenfiddich Grand Yozakura is the fourth release in Glenfiddich's Grand Series and the first single malt to be finished in Awamori casks — the indigenous distilled rice spirit of Okinawa.

Distillery & Heritage

Named for the Yozakura tradition of viewing cherry blossoms at night, this 29 year old expression sits at the top of Glenfiddich's core line-up.

Tasting Notes in Detail

The nose is unmistakably exotic: cherry blossom, peach skin and sandalwood layer over Glenfiddich's classic orchard sweetness.

Verdict

A fascinating, beautifully composed Glenfiddich.
