First Impressions
Pour a dram of Glenfarclas 15 and you immediately understand why aficionados rate it among the finest value sherried malts in Scotland.
Distillery & Heritage
Glenfarclas sits at the foot of Ben Rinnes in Speyside and has been owned by the Grant family since 1865 — one of the very few remaining family-owned distilleries in Scotland. The 15 Year Old, bottled at a generous 46% without chill-filtration, is widely regarded as the sweet spot of the core range.
Tasting Notes in Detail
The nose is unmistakably sherried — fruitcake, raisins, walnuts and orange peel dominate. The palate delivers everything the nose promises.
Verdict
The benchmark by which sherried Speysiders should be judged.
