First Impressions
If the 12 introduced people to GlenAllachie, the 15 is what made them clear a shelf for it.
Distillery & Heritage
The 15 Year Old leans heavily on Pedro Ximénez and oloroso sherry casks from Billy Walker's hand-picked stocks at GlenAllachie. As with the 12 it is bottled at 46%, non-chill filtered and natural colour.
Tasting Notes in Detail
The nose is darker and richer than the 12 — chocolate, raisin, espresso and fig roll, with a marmalade lift. The palate is properly chewy: chocolate-covered raisins, treacle, mocha, cinnamon and toasted walnut.
Verdict
Arguably the best-value 15 year old sherried Speysider on the market.
