Tasting Notes

Nose

Tropical fruit, polished oak, dried fruit. Twenty-eight years have given the distinctive cooling-ring spirit extraordinary maturity. Pineapple, mango, vanilla and a composed oak warmth.

Palate

Tropical and mature — exotic fruit, dried fruit, a gentle oak spice. Nearly three decades have allowed Fettercairn's naturally tropical spirit to develop genuine complexity. Mid-palate brings dark chocolate, a gentle warmth and a magnificent depth.

Finish

Very long, with tropical fruit and mature oak sustaining elegantly.

Fettercairn 28 Year Old presents nearly three decades of maturation from this unique Highland distillery. The copper cooling ring — Fettercairn's signature production feature — produces a naturally tropical spirit, and twenty-eight years of aging have allowed this character to develop extraordinary depth and complexity.

The tropical character is fully mature at twenty-eight years. The pineapple and mango notes that younger Fettercairn hints at are here fully developed and accompanied by dried fruit, chocolate and a polished oak warmth. The cooling ring's influence, amplified by time, creates a whisky unlike anything else in the Highlands.

Fettercairn 28 is one of the most distinctive aged Highland malts — a whisky whose unique production method creates a tropical character that no other Scottish distillery can replicate. At its premium price, the quality and distinctiveness justify the investment.
