Tasting Notes

Nose

Manuka honey, crème brûlée, antique leather. Delicate tropical notes — pomegranate, guava, cherry blossom. The tawny port and Apóstoles sherry finishing creates a layered, complex opening.

Palate

Ripe figs, Seville oranges, forest fruits, passion fruit. Lightly roasted Colombian coffee, fermented black limes, brioche. The 0.5% peated Dalmore (vintage 2000) adds a subtle whisper of herbal smoke. At 48.6%, genuine body.

Finish

Fresh roasted chestnuts, sweet wood spices, dark cacao and Alphonso mangoes. A delicate whisper of herbal wood smoke. Complex and sustained.

The Dalmore Luminary No.2 is the 2024 collectible release — sixteen years of maturation in bourbon casks, finished in a combination of Graham's tawny port pipes and Apóstoles sherry casks, with a 0.5% addition of vintage 2000 peated Dalmore from refill bourbon casks. Limited to 20,000 bottles.

The multi-component finishing is characteristically Dalmore. The tawny port adds berry fruit and a gentle sweetness, the Apóstoles sherry contributes dried fruit and complexity, and the tiny peated addition provides an almost imperceptible whisper of smoke that adds depth without altering the profile. At 48.6%, natural colour and non-chill-filtered, the whisky is honestly presented.

Luminary No.2 has plenty to discover — the complexity develops with time in the glass, revealing new layers of tropical fruit, coffee and spice. The combination of port and sherry finishing creates a richer, more complex Dalmore than the standard 15 Year Old, and the collectible positioning is backed by genuine liquid quality.
