Tasting Notes

Nose

Dark chocolate, dried fig, sandalwood, candied orange peel and toffee.

Palate

Velvety and rich — dark chocolate, raisin, prune, soft sherry oak, hazelnut and warming spice.

Finish

Long, dry and elegant with cocoa, oak tannin and a whisper of smoke.

First Impressions

Created in 1997 by then-master blender Colin Scott, Chivas 18 Gold Signature was designed as the pinnacle pour of the range. It famously contains 'eighty-five flavour notes per drop'.

Distillery & Heritage

Built around aged Strathisla, Longmorn and Glen Keith malts and vatted with mature Speyside grain, the 18 is a deep, sherry-influenced expression of the house style. Scott's signature sits embossed on every bottle.

Tasting Notes in Detail

The nose is layered and seductive — dark chocolate, fig, candied orange and sandalwood. The palate is properly velvety: rich raisin, prune and cocoa over a soft sherry-oak backbone.

Verdict

One of the great luxury blends.
