Tasting Notes

Nose

Sweet smoky meat — slowly produced ribs and sticky sausages. Ethanol balanced with sweet notes. The ten years add genuine depth to the cross-Atlantic smoke concept.

Palate

Medium-bodied, dryish — bold wood smoke, driftwood, white pepper. Second wave of juicy orchard fruits, nuttiness, caramel. The peated Scotch and Tennessee rye combination gains complexity at ten years. At 48.3%, excellent body.

Finish

Smoky and sustained. The maturity adds a composed quality that the younger Burnt Ends lacks.

Burnt Bridges is the ten-year-old expression from Atom Brands' barbecue-inspired whiskey range — the mature follow-up to the original Burnt Ends. Combining aged peated Scotch malt with Tennessee rye whiskey, bottled at 48.3%, it applies the same cross-Atlantic concept with a decade of maturation.

The ten years transform the concept. Where Burnt Ends can feel young and a little raw, Burnt Bridges has genuine depth — the smoke is more composed, the rye spice more integrated, and the overall impression more sophisticated. The barbecue metaphor still applies, but this is low-and-slow rather than hot-and-fast.

Burnt Bridges justifies its premium over the younger Burnt Ends through genuine maturity and complexity. The cross-Atlantic concept works better with age, and the 48.3% gives everything room to express itself. A well-made, characterful ten-year-old blended whiskey with genuine smoke credentials.
