53.5% ABV. Mash bill: Undisclosed. 107 Proof. MSRP 159.99 USD. The familiar scent of bourbon mixes with a flowing breeze of Caribbean spice. There are hints of vanilla, nutmeg, and orange peel all surrounding a rich thread of bananas foster. The synergy of rum and bourbon is undeniable in this expression. It does an admirable job of introducing the vibrant flavors of rum without overpowering the essential qualities of the bourbon. As both are richly flavored, oak aged spirits, I can find the qualities of each complimenting the final taste. It has the robust stability of a bourbon and just a hint of the fruitier extremes of Bajan rum.rnrnI cant quite give a universal recommendation, as not everyone will want the flavors of rum in their bourbon. If youre the slightest bit curious how these flavors can compliment bourbon, however, then this is a great example.
