Vanilla, charred oak, peanut brittle, brown sugar, dark cherry and a whiff of tobacco

Big and oily — vanilla, caramel, oak char, dark fruit, baking spice and the trademark Beam peanut note

Finish

Long, warming, with oak, cocoa and gentle pepper

First Impressions

Booker's was the original cask-strength, uncut, unfiltered small-batch bourbon when Booker Noe first released it in 1988.

Distillery & Heritage

Distilled at Jim Beam in Clermont, Kentucky, Booker's launched the Beam Small Batch Collection alongside Knob Creek, Baker's and Basil Hayden's. Booker famously pulled barrels from the centre cut of the rickhouse — the sweet spot — and bottled them straight. Today batches are released roughly six times a year.

Tasting Notes in Detail

The nose is unmistakably Beam — vanilla, charred oak, peanut brittle, brown sugar and dark cherry. The palate is big and oily, with caramel, oak char, dark fruit and baking spice riding the trademark Beam peanut note.

Verdict

The bourbon that rewrote the rules in 1988 and still sets the standard.
