Distillery & Heritage

Founded in 2013 by Joe Beatrice in Louisville, Barrell Craft Spirits operates as a true independent blender — buying barrels from multiple distilleries and assembling them with the precision of a Scotch blending house. Each batch is a one-off blend of straight bourbons sourced from Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana.

Tasting Notes in Detail

The nose is dense and layered: caramel, toasted oak, cherry cola, orange zest, dark chocolate. At cask strength the palate hits hard — brown sugar, dried cherry, clove, leather, espresso.

Verdict

A benchmark indie bottling.
