First Impressions
The 16 Year Old takes everything that makes Aberfeldy 12 so beloved and pushes it deeper, darker and richer.
Distillery & Heritage
Built in 1898 by the Dewar brothers, Aberfeldy has always operated in service of the Dewar's blend — but a series of single malt releases since the 2000s have built it a strong standalone reputation. The 16 is one of the brand's most awarded core expressions.
Tasting Notes in Detail
The nose layers heather honey over raisins, orange peel, walnut and soft oak spice. The palate is rich and confident: honeycomb and dark fruitcake first, then candied orange, hazelnut and treacle, with cinnamon and clove from the sherry casks.
Verdict
One of the finest expressions of the honeyed Highland style.
