First Impressions
If a single descriptor sticks to Aberfeldy 12, it's 'honey'.
Distillery & Heritage
Aberfeldy was founded in 1898 by John and Tommy Dewar on the banks of the Pitilie Burn in Perthshire. It was built specifically to provide the malt heart of Dewar's blended Scotch.
Tasting Notes in Detail
The nose is unmistakable: heather honey, vanilla and orange marmalade with toasted oak underneath and a quiet whiff of tropical fruit. The palate delivers on the promise — beeswax, malted cereal, fudge and citrus, with a gentle ginger warmth.
Verdict
A classically styled Highland malt and a benchmark honeyed dram.
