Whisky Review: Forthwest Whisky landed on my desk at 40% ABV), aged 5 years, 700 ml, $29, carrying a $29.95 price tag. With 5 years of age behind it, Here is what I found.

Nose

This whiskey has a lovely light amber color.

Palate

There is a lovely hint of vanilla, and some sweet brown sugar or light maple touch. There is a nice hit of spice to the tongue, followed by a nice smooth caramel touch.

Finish

This is a lovely whisky. It’s nice and smooth, and it’s not overpowering, as some whiskies can be for some. This is definitely a great whisky to drink straight or on the rocks, but is also smooth and light enough that it would be a great base for cocktails. I would definitely recommend Forthwest Whisky.

The Bottom Line

Whisky Review: Forthwest Whisky delivers the goods. It is well-made, genuinely enjoyable, and at $29.95 represents solid value for what you are getting. I would happily buy this again.
