There is a lot to like about Whisky Review: Forthwest Giant Peach on paper. At 40% ABV), 700 ml, $29 and $29.95, let us see if it lives up to expectations.
Nose
This whiskey has a very light, almost clear, amber color.
Palate
There is definitely a very strong peach scent coming from this whisky, with a hint of smokiness.
Finish
There is a very strong peach flavor that hits immediately and lingers, with some very strong spiciness that follows. Im not a very big fan of peach flavored things in general, so this definitely isnt my favorite Forthwest flavor. The peach flavor lingers, and I feel that it overpowered all the other flavors. That being said, even as someone who doesnt like peach flavor, this is a fantastic whisky. Even though it overpowers the other flavors, the peach is flavorful enough, and has enough real peach flavor that makes it good. One could easily drink this straight, or include it as a mixer in a cocktail.
The Bottom Line
Whisky Review: Forthwest Giant Peach is fine — not bad, not great, just fine. At $29.95, I think there are better options in this range if you are willing to look around.
