I have been looking forward to getting my hands on Tattersall Distilling Interstate American Single Malt. Bottled at 45% ABV) and priced at $45/750ml bottle, it promises 4 years in virgin oak barrels of maturation and genuine character.
Nose
The light gold of a cloudless sunrise. Theres a great complexity on the nose. Pecans, brown sugar, chocolate covered coffee bean, and cherry presented nicely. While there are elements that carry over from the pleasant nose, there is a slight lack of oomph with the tasting. Doughy elements and cherry syrup come through, theres some melon and slight sugar that carries across the palate with a medium finish.
Palate
I recommend enjoying this whiskey in a cocktail, its light and would be great for a summer sipper. I think it could be nice neat, but wouldnt suggest adding water or rocks as it would dilute an already mellow whiskey.

The Bottom Line
Tattersall Distilling Interstate American Single Malt is a perfectly respectable whiskey that does what it sets out to do. At $45/750ml bottle, the value is reasonable — it will not blow your mind, but it will not disappoint you either. A reliable choice.
