Garrison Brothers 2022 Laguna Madre Texas Straight Bourbon bottled at 50.5% ABV, mash bill: no — a $299.99/ 750ml bottle expression that merits close attention.
Nose
Deep golden color with a mahogany undertone. This is silky and limp on the palate with a touch of drying tannins. At first, the green note from the nose offers up aromas of papaya, tarragon, and fresh pine cones. This gives way to a note of dark chocolate sauce, cinnamon gum, and toasted brown bread. Its richly flavored, though it takes a while to open up in the glass. The finish is decadent and clinging, showing notes of melted dark chocolate, autumn leaves, and chocolate covered malt balls. This really comes around in the glass, and opens up to dark spice bread and chocolate notes. The restrained initial aromatics undergo an impressive turn around. I have to hand it to them for the packaging, too. The bottle looks opulent and eye-catching. Whats in the glass is just as sure to impress, if you can get your hands on any. New and rare releases are quick to sell out, including this Garrison Brothers 2022 Laguna Madre Texas Straight Bourbon.
